Here you can find information on what to expect from Warframe on iOS and "pre-ordering" to ensure your day-one download, as well as device restrictions and region restrictions as the mobile release is only available in certain countries at launch.

Q: What is the iOS pre-order for Warframe?

A: The iOS pre-order, or pre-registration, is simply a way to automatically notify you the moment Warframe becomes available to play on your mobile device — helping you prepare to download the game as early as possible and when it’s most convenient for you. By pre-ordering, you will receive the game’s App Store icon on your device ahead of time, as well as a notification when the full game becomes available for download.

Warframe is and remains entirely free-to-play. There is no associated cost with pre-registration, creating an account or playing.

Q: When can I pre-register to play on iOS?

A: Pre-registration for Warframe on iOS has already begun! You can still sign up through the App Store — just click the App Store link embedded at the top of this post — any time between now and the official release date. After which point it will no longer be possible to pre-register.

Q: How long will it take to install Warframe mobile?

A: While install time will vary based on your Wi-Fi or cellular connection, the initial download can in some instances take multiple hours to complete. Please make sure to keep the app open and running in the foreground during the download phase. The “Downloading Updates” install phase will not progress if the app is in the background or if the device is in sleep mode. 

Plugging in your device to confirm a stable power supply is recommended. We do NOT recommend using cellular data if you have a limited data plan.

Q: When is Warframe releasing on iOS?

A: There is no confirmed release date at this time.

Q: How will I know if I have successfully pre-registered?

You should receive an email from Apple that confirms your pre-order is locked in.

Q: What Apple devices are currently supported?

A: Several iPhone and iPad devices are compatible with Warframe on mobile.

Q: Can I use an external controller to play the full game?

A: Yes, you can sync up a compatible controller to your iOS device. Find out how to pair your particular controller with help from Apple Support at support.apple.com.

Q: Will Warframe on iOS be Cross-Save compatible?

A: Yes. Upon the release of Cross-Save, players who sign in with an existing Warframe account will be able to carry their progress between iOS and any other version of the game.

Q: How much of the Warframe experience will be available on iOS?

A: Warframe for iOS was conceived and developed as another way to play the full game. It is the entire, interconnected console experience on mobile with optional cross-progression and cross-play between all other platforms. Players will have access to all of the same great gameplay and story content seen in every other version and will be able to squad up seamlessly with players on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch and PC. 

Note that some platform exclusive Customizations tied to services like PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass may not be available for purchase outside of their respective ecosystems.

Q: Will Warframe on iOS have any monetized features?

A: Since Warframe on iOS will be the complete, unfettered console experience on mobile, this release will include the exact same monetization features already available in all versions of the game. Players can purchase and/or trade for Platinum currency to buy things like Weapons, Warframes, Armor and Accessories, as well as to instantly complete crafting projects.

Just like in the console and PC versions, any and all available features that impact gameplay (such as unlocking Weapons and Warframes) can also be earned for free through normal gameplay.

Q: Should I play on Wi-Fi or via cellular data?

A: We recommend playing over Wi-Fi for the best possible experience rather than cellular data. Especially if you are concerned about personal data caps. We don’t want you to hit or go over your cellular data limit while downloading or playing!

Q: I participated in the closed beta. Will my progress from that experience carry over to the full game?

A: No. The iOS closed beta was for testing purposes only.
