The Star Chart

The Origin System is always evolving. Here’s a quick reference guide to the ever-changing Star Chart and what each of its unique icons mean.

#

1. Profile & Multiplayer Settings

Play with friends or go solo!

This collection of tabs allows you to access your Warframe profile and multiplayer settings. Here you can quickly see an overview of your Loadout, as well as switch to Public, Friends Only, Invite Only, or Solo Play and invite other Tenno to your Squad.

2. Quests & Events

Track Quests and watch for time-sensitive activities

This set of navigation tabs provides access to a wide variety of activities — particularly your active Quests and time-sensitive events. You can hover over any icon to read what it represents: such as Alerts, Void Fissures and Sorties.

3. Duviri

Enter a bizarre roguelike world

This ominous, helmeted head of Dominus Thrax appears after completing the Quest “Vor’s Prize.” Selecting it will allow you to start another Quest, “The Duviri Paradox.” After which you can choose this icon again to access the roguelike realm of Duviri.

4. Railjack

Take flight in ship-to-ship combat

After constructing your Railjack during the Quest “Rising Tide,” you can select this icon to enter the Empyrean Star Chart. This is a totally unique series of Missions similar to the central Star Chart. However, rather than fighting on foot, each Mission will begin with a space battle on your personal warship: the Railjack.

5. The Steel Path

Conquer the Star Chart all over again on a higher difficulty

This icon will allow you to toggle between two options: “Origin System (Normal)” and “The Steel Path.” The former includes your standard Star Chart and Missions — beginning with Earth and branching out to the rest of the system. The Steel Path is identical in structure, but features much more powerful enemies (and greater Rewards). Note that you must complete each Mission on Steel Path difficulty once to unlock each subsequent node, just as if you were playing through Warframe for the first time.

6. Nightwave

Daily and weekly challenges offer fantastic rewards

Selecting this will take you to the latest series of Nightwave: a completely free collection of daily and weekly challenges available to all Tenno. Each challenge awards an amount of Standing. For every 10,000 Standing you earn, your mysterious benefactor, Nora Night, will award you with a new Reward ranging from Customizations to Weapon Slots to powerful upgrades.

7. Adversaries

Face powerful foes entirely unique to each Tenno

This icon will appear the first time you attract the attention of either a Kuva Lich or a Sister of Parvos. These unique, deadly rivals will lay claim to specially marked regions on your Star Chart. Face your Adversary and their minions by taking on Missions in their territory. Defeating them once and for all will yield powerful Kuva and Tenet Weapons — if you manage to best them

8. Resource Drones

Gather crafting materials the easy way

Place Extractor drones on worlds you’ve fully unlocked via the Star Chart to begin passively harvesting resources over time! Once an Extractor is placed, it will take a set number of real-world hours to finish collecting. After which you can pick it back up and start the process over again. Overusing a single Extractor can cause it to break down, so consider building backups. Damaged drones automatically repair themselves when not in use!

9. Public & Private Chat

Contact allies, make deals and tackle greater challenges

Select this lower menu to open Warframe’s text chat window. By default, you will have private tabs dedicated to your Squad, Clan and Alliance. There are also public channels for Q&A (where Tenno can ask one another for advice), Recruiting (for those looking to Squad up or join a Clan) and Trading. You can also send direct messages to your fellow Tenno!
